Online Saudi visa is launched

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia's passport department's assistant director general of technology, Colonel Khaled bin Hamad Al Shaikhan, said, 'The development of Abash's electronic services is continuing with the aim of providing all the services of the passport department.

As a result of this facility, the aspirants will not need to personally attend the passport office. Absher's current services to Saudi nationals and expatriates include Akama issuance and renewal, exit-reentry visa issuance, extension of leave, data transfer and travel authorization.

Assistant Director General Colonel Khaled bin Hamad Al Shaikhan also said, "This week, other important services will be launched, including multiple exit-reentry visas and Akama transfers to other sponsors." Since its inception, Absher has renewed 78 lakh 70 thousand Akamas so far. 60,000 has been given by the new Akama. Due to this service, the migrants will receive their identity cards in maximum 3 days.

Al Shaikhan said that the next step of the 'Wasil' service will be to send passports to Saudi citizens. He further said that henceforth only the elderly and persons requiring special care will be allowed to visit the passport offices.
