Known as 'Glass Beach', this beach is capable of filling anyone's mind. At the beginning of the day, when the sun shines on the colorful glass stones of the seashore, it will seem like an incredible sight.
According to media reports, this glass beach was not built in a day. It started more than a hundred years ago in 1906. Residents of Fort Bragg started dumping their daily waste items on this beach. Most of the discarded items were pieces of unnecessary glass and various parts. After a period of time, after a large amount of waste accumulated, the combustible waste was incinerated.
Then another scene is seen. About the year 1943. A section of the beach was completely littered with broken glass and garbage. That's why the other side of the beach has been made a designated place to throw garbage. Then in 1949, this beach was also filled with garbage. The dumping site was then moved further north. Then it was used till 1967.
Then came a time when the beach was filled with glass and trash, California's 'Department of Water Resources Control' and city officials banned littering on the beach altogether. Then the initiative was taken to renovate this beach.
At that time the recyclable parts are sold. And what's left gets smoother and smoother, and at times even more brilliant, as it rubs against the beach over the years. It turns into a precious stone.
As its beauty grew, Glass Beach was opened to the public in 1998. Before this 5 years a big renovation work was carried out in this beach. In 2002, this beach was brought under MacArthur State Park. Now about 10 thousand visitors arrive here every year.
But as visitors pick up the glass for collection and it washes away with the waves, the number of these eye-catching glass-stones is also dwindling. So forced the authorities banned the collection of glass for visitors. Glass festival is organized on this beach every year. Where many tourists participate. Basically many tourists choose this time.
