We know that there are beauty contests for girls in different countries. However, in such a conservative country like the UAE, it is impossible for women to participate in beauty pageants or to organize such pageants. However, they are not willing to be deprived of such a fun competition. So every year camel beauty contest is organized there. This competition is named 'Beinunah'. The Beinunah festival is mainly held for contestants from the United Arab Emirates. The biggest festival of camel beauty pageant is 'Al Dafra'.
About 25 thousand contestants participate in the Al Dafra festival organized every year. The Beinunah competition offers prizes worth more than 4 million dirhams (about 8.5 crore rupees). It is one of the most fun and entertaining of all cattle competitions. Contestants are declared winners based on the appearance, fertility and age of the camels. But many enthusiastic people participate in this competition.
