Currently, the number of poor people in the world is 350 million. Only 62 rich people have wealth equal to the total wealth of these people. On the other hand, the top 1 percent of the rich hold the same wealth as the other 99 percent.

Oxfam International, an international organization working on poverty alleviation, has highlighted these facts in a recent report. The company has established this account based on the data of Credit Suisse, an international financial services company based in Switzerland, and the US magazine Forbes.

A BBC report on Monday said that Oxfam is calling for effective action to tackle global economic inequality at this week's summit of world leaders in Davos, Switzerland.

A report of Oxfam last year also revealed such information. It is said that if the world's wealth is divided in half, only 80 rich people have the same wealth as the bottom half of the population. In this case, the number of billionaires was 85 in 2014 and 388 in 2010.
