The Dhaka Times Desk The National Film Awards 2014 have been announced today. This time Ferdous won the best actor and Moushumi and Mim jointly won the best actress.
According to a press release sent by the Ministry of Information, the names of the awardees of the 'National Film Awards 2014' have been finalized. After selecting the members of the jury board, the names of the nominated persons have been sent to the Ministry of Information. On February 24, Information Ministry Secretary Mortuza Ahmad also signed it. In 'National Film Awards 2014', awards have been announced in a total of 26 categories.
In 2014, Murad Pervez's 'Brihannala' was selected as the best film at the National Film Awards. Murad Parvez won two awards for the same film as Best Narrator and Dialogue Writer.
The best actor was Ferdous (film Ek Kaap Cha). Moushumi (film Tarkanta) and Meem (film Jonakir Alo) won the best actress award jointly.
Zahidur Rahim Anjan has been selected as the best director for the film 'Meghmallar' at the National Film Awards.
James won the best singer for 'Desha The Leader'. Runa Laila (Priya Tumi Sukhi Ho) and Mumtaz (Nekabbar's Mahaprayan) were jointly named Best Female Singer.
Saim Rana, Masood Pathik, Belal Khan and Abdur Rahman were selected as the best music director, lyricist, composer and makeup artist respectively for the film 'Nekabbarer Mahaprayan'.
Tariq Anam Khan was chosen as the best villain for the film 'Desha The Leader'. Saikat Nasir won the best screenplay and Tauhid Hossain Chowdhury won the best editor for the same film.
Misha Saudagar, who is known as the popular actor of the character of Khal, has received the award for the best comedy performer (Alpah Bhak Prem Kaga).
Ejazul Islam won the best supporting actor award for 'Tarakanta' and Chitralekha Guha (mother of 71) won the best actress award.

Syed Hasan Imam and Rani Sarkar jointly receiving Lifetime Achievement Award at National Film Awards 2014. It has been informed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards and honors to the awardees in a ceremony soon.
