According to media reports, a zebra has fallen into a lake on a golf course and died after suddenly leaving an equestrian club in Japan.
According to the BBC, a team of police and veterinarians chased the zebra for several hours on a golf course in the city of Tokyo to catch the runaway zebra. At one point, the animal fell into the lake despite being injected with anesthetic to catch it. After being picked up from there, the zebra was declared dead by the doctors.
Note that the two-year-old male zebra escaped from the equestrian club last Tuesday evening. This event is considered to be a rare occurrence. Then on Wednesday morning, the police received information that a zebra was running on the highway. Police later located the animal at the Tokyo International Golf Course.
