Waking up in the morning and watering the garden is considered as a daily task of many people. However, from now on, if a resident of Chandigarh in India forgets to water the tree, he will have to pay a fine!

Not only this, this offense can also result in disconnection of the water connection of the house. According to media reports, the local administration has taken such a decision to prevent wastage of water.

Recently, a statement from the local administration said that if the residents are seen watering trees or washing cars between 5:30 am and 8:30 am, then he should be fined two thousand rupees first. It has been warned that the water connection to the house of the accused may also be disconnected if the same complaint is repeated.

An official of Chandigarh Municipality said, 'From April 15 to June 30, 18 teams of our workers will visit different parts of the city to see if water is being wasted. Hope this way we will be able to stop wastage of water as well as make people aware.'
