The court today (Tuesday) sent her friend Shahriar Islam aka Shaon to prison after remand in the case filed by the popular actress Mahia Mahir for defamation by publishing pictures on Facebook.
Mahia Mahi filed this case under the Information Technology Act at the capital's Uttara Paschim police station on May 27. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) police arrested Shahriar and remanded him for two days.
After the remand, Shahriar was brought to court today (Tuesday) and when the DB Police applied for a 7-day remand, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Islam rejected the remand and bail application and ordered him to be sent to jail.
