Many do not like black in our society. Therefore, various kinds of undesirable events happen in our society from time to time.
One such incident happened in Birbhum, India. There a housewife named 'Nirupama' had to die because her complexion was 'black'. A tribal woman was burnt alive after being tortured in the Panchayat, arbitration meeting! The incident took place in a village of Birbhum district of West Bengal, India.
According to the complaint, Nirupama, a 22-year-old mother of one child, was burnt to death by her in-laws because of her dark complexion. Their purpose was to marry the son and bring a fair wife home!
In a statement given at the time of her death, the victim girl told the police that on the night of June 3, her husband and 3 brothers-in-law, mother-in-law first locked her in a room. Then sprinkled kerosene around and set it on fire.
The young woman died the next morning. Accused husband Nasir Sheikh and other in-laws are absconding.
After preliminary investigation, the police found out that 3 years ago, Nasir got married to the victim girl in exchange of 1 lakh taka and 10 katha land. However, after the marriage, Nasir and his family started torturing him to get more money from his father's house. At one stage of this, a horrific incident happened. Such events have stopped the present civilized society.
