While taking a selfie, there was a problem in Kanpur, India. Seven youths drowned in the Ganges. While trying to save each other, they all drowned in the water, police said.

Kanpur district police sources in India's Uttar Pradesh said that after the rain, the youth of Colonelganj area went to bathe in the Ganges with their companions. All the companions are residents of Juhi area. Taking a selfie while taking a bath. A young man named Shivam suddenly lost his balance and started floating in the water. Due to the rain, the water level in the Ganga had risen. While trying to save Shivam, Maksud was also present there. Then the rest also jumped into the water and tried to save the two companions. But one by one everyone drowns in the Ganges water stream!

Later, divers were sent to rescue the youth. Their bodies were recovered after a two-hour search. They were declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital.

The deceased are Sachin Gupta (21), Rohit (20), Bholu Tiwari (20), Shivam (19), Maksud (31), Bhola (16) and Satyam (24).

It is to be noted that three young women drowned in the sea while taking a selfie near Bandra Fort in Mumbai last January. A local youth jumped into the water to save them. He also died at that time.
