Google plans to bring its own smartphone!

The Dhaka Times Desk This time, Google is going to enter the smartphone market. Google is thinking of launching its own smartphone brand to dominate both mobile hardware and software like the iPhone.

The company has already started preliminary talks with some famous companies regarding the production of handsets.

Currently, 4 out of every 5 smartphones sold in the world use Google's Android operating system. However, Samsung is at the top in smartphone production and market. On the other hand, Apple has a monopoly in the business of iOS operating system supported devices. Therefore, Google has planned to bring its own smartphone, not only the Android operating system, to expand its business.

Originally, Google was involved in the design, marketing and sales of smartphones. Their Nexus brand devices are manufactured by 'Original Equipment Makers' or affiliates. Google provides all the updates starting from the Android software to the popular Nexus devices. Google has been making Nexus smartphones through device manufacturers like HTC, Huawei and LG. But this time, not through any other company, but the tech giant Google is going to produce the device itself.

According to the UK Telegraph, the smartphones will go on sale around the world later this year. Because of this, it will be easier for Google to establish more control over Google Play apps, search engines and software.

Company CEO Sundar Pichai said last month that Google wants to invest more in the phone market. Also, Nexus devices will continue to be 'supported'. Last April, the European Commission accused Google of business monopoly, saying that Google Chrome and the Google search engine are being forcefully 'pushed' to users using Android and the Google Play Store. But this new move by Google is expected to make the European Union's complaint against them even heavier.
