The Dhaka Times Desk The popular social media website Facebook has taken a firm position to take measures against the world's most dangerous terrorist group, the Islamic State.
This militant group is better known as ISIS or IS. Recently, Facebook authorities asked a woman named Isis to provide proof (ID) to confirm her identity.
According to media reports, the woman from Bristol, United Kingdom was known as Isis Worcester on Facebook. On June 27, she sent a request on Facebook to change her name to Isis Thomas.
Then the Facebook authorities sent a message to the woman saying that the name 'Isis' will not be used on Facebook. It does not match the policy. Those who had previously opened accounts using ISIS or IS names, were later closed by Facebook authorities.
