The Dhaka Times Desk 6 of the 7 Japanese who died in the Gulshan terror incident of remembrance were consultants for the Metrorail project.
He gave this information in response to a question from the journalists of Road Transport Minister and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader after visiting the Syedabad Bus Terminal in the capital today (Sunday) morning.
Obaidul Quader said, 'They were working as auditors of the Metrorail project under the implementation of Bangladesh Government, their life lamp has been extinguished prematurely. They came to check the feasibility of MRT lines 5 and 1 of Metrorail. However, the minister said that the incident will not affect the Metrorail project.
Obaidul Quader said that this attack in Gulshan is a part of global terrorism. The Japanese government also knows this. They must realize its reality. JICA delegation also arrived in Dhaka today. The government will discuss with them.
