Keep henna on hands for a long time
The easiest and original method to darken henna color is to keep henna on hands for a long time. Mehndi should be kept for at least 7 to 8 hours. If possible, keep henna on hands for 12 hours. You can apply henna on your hands at night and remove it in the morning. The longer you keep henna on your hands, the darker the color will be.
Sugar and lemon mixture
First boil sugar with water and burn it. After the sugar water cools down, mix few drops of lemon juice in it. When the henna is dry, apply the water mixed with sugar and lemon on the henna. This should be done several times. This will make the henna color darker.
Use of mustard oil
Massage mustard oil on hands after removing henna from hands. This oil warms the hands which will help to darken the henna color.
Hot steaming
It is known that steaming cloves or henna helps to darken the color. Clove steam after lemon-sugar water is very effective. First heat a few cloves on a tawa. Then place your hennaed hand over the clove smoke. Doing this for some time will make the henna color darker.
Wrap your hands in paper
The color becomes darker if henna is wrapped in paper. But experts say, it can spoil the design. Of course, you can wrap it with plastic paper.

Do not wash henna dyed hands with # soapy water.
# Avoid shaving after applying henna on hands.
# Do not use hair dryer to dry henna quickly.
# Lemon-sugar water should not be used in excess.
