The Dhaka Times Desk Grameenphone has been allotted new code number 013. This new code number is assigned along with 017.
Grameenphone Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mahmud Hossain said that BTRC has allotted this number scheme in view of Grameenphone's application.
Mahmud Hossain said, 'We have received the approval of the number scheme. We need to do some development work, especially on the network. We will launch 013 soon after this is over.'
He also said that the sale of 10 crore numbers allocated in the 017 number scheme for Grameenphone is almost at the end.
The quota of 10 crore numbers allotted to Grameenphone will end by November this year. 013 connected numbers may be activated before or after this. Then the dialing code number for Grameenphone new users will be 013.
