But this company is registered as sugar coated. But the surprising fact is that they have been using the sugar coated registration number as field coated for a long time by taking refuge in fraud! State Minister for Health Mojibur Rahman Fakir himself has accused the company of fraud and cheating.
Recently, tenders were invited on September 26 last year for the purchase of 150 million or 15 crore cycles of sugarcoating/filmcoating birth control pills funded by the World Bank under the Department of Family Planning. Four domestic and foreign institutions participated in it. From this time, various complaints started about the process of buying pills. As a result, the purchase process is delayed a lot. At one stage, on May 6, Health and Family Welfare Ministry Secretary MM Niaz Uddin made a summary to the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement, recommending that Femi Care Limited be given work order, describing the fulfillment of various conditions and qualifications as per the demand of the authorities. The Secretary himself signed the summary.
Meanwhile, on the same day (May 6), he fixed 15 working days in an instruction sent to the director general of the drug administration department. Mentioned in the letter, the company manufactured tablets Livnor Gestrel 150 mcg + Ethane Lystradiol 30 mcg are registered as Sugar Coated by the Department of Drug Administration - Number - (213-3541-2000). This registration also expired on January 25 this year. They fraudulently supplied the Family Planning Department by using the registration number of the 'sugar coated' tablet on the 'film coated' tablet, which is in violation of conditions of registration and professional misconduct and cheating under Section 127(2) of PPR.
In this regard, the Minister of State for Health said that they have lost their right to do business in this country due to the corruption and fraud they have committed and they have been asked to take action against them as per the law.
A senior official, who did not want to be named, said, 'The summary prepared by the secretary, the processes or decisions taken for this have the approval of the Minister as well as the Minister of State. If so, how did the Secretary prepare that summary? However, the health secretary said that Femicare has been nominated for the supply of birth control pills following all the rules of the tender. No rules were violated in this case. Regarding the complaint of the state minister, he said, it is an old complaint!
Janata Traders, the Bangladeshi agent, said their license had expired and applied for license renewal. Their rival institutions are opposing them with a vengeance. In this context, the Director General of the Directorate of Drug Administration Major General Jahangir Hossain said that the instructions have been received. It is being worked on. The Minister of State for Health himself is supervising this work.
