Cow sacrifice is prohibited in Telangana state of India!

The Dhaka Times Desk Cow sacrifice on Eid-ul-Azha has been banned in India's Telangana state. The state government issued a directive just before Eid-ul-Adha and imposed this ban.

Telangana State Government Animal Husbandry Department Director D Venkatasharlu said that police and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials are conducting searches at various places to stop cow slaughter this Eid. Whether the cow-slaughter law is being obeyed or not is being looked at seriously.

According to the news published in various Indian media, the Telangana government has informed that cows cannot be killed on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in this state under any circumstances.

Moreover, in the case of buffaloes, goats or other animals, no animal of the female gender can be killed. Strict guidelines have been issued by the Livestock Development Department of Telangana State Government in this regard.

The directive said, 'All the people of Telangana state are informed that no one will tolerate animal cruelty and condone cow slaughter under any circumstances. If any person is found to be involved in such activities then the person will be punished severely as per Indian law. The people of the state have been requested to immediately inform the Telangana state police and administrative department, especially if the cow killing incident is noticed.

In the context of this directive, the Telangana state government argued that cows play an important role in the rural economy. That is why this step has been taken to give special importance to stop cow slaughter.
