The Dhaka Times Desk In Bollywood, a film was made again about the liberation war of 1971. Although the subject is seventy-one, it will mainly consist of a story of a fight organized on two submarines.
The film is titled 'Ghaji'. Tamil blockbuster 'Baahubali' villain Rana Raggubati and recently released 'Pink' actress Taapsee Pannu are playing the lead roles.
'Ghaji' is directed by Sankalp Reddy. The film will be made in Hindi and Telugu languages. Hindustan Times also said that it will be dubbed in Tamil.
It is known that the story of two submarines that participated in the Bangladesh-Pakistan war will come up in this 'Ghaji' film. During the war, Pakistan's submarine PNS Ghazi was destroyed by India's INS Rajput.
Meanwhile, in an interview given to Hindustan Times, the film's heroine Taapsee said that she is playing the role of a Bangladeshi woman in the film. This is the first film based on submarines in Bollywood. My character in the film is a refugee Bangladeshi woman. I am truly blessed to be able to play such a character!'
The 29-year-old actress also said that the shooting of the film started in January this year. But it's over now. Currently some 3D assets of the film are in progress.
It is to be noted that the liberation war of Bangladesh has been caught in Bollywood many times in the past in various ways.
সেগুলো হলো ’যুদ্ধশিশু’ (চিলড্রেন অব ওয়ার), ‘১৯৭১’ এবং ‘১৬ ডিসেম্বর’ উল্লেখযোগ্য।
On the other hand, the liberation war was seen in the fragmentary Indian Bengali film 'Jewelry Box'. However, the latest Bollywood film 'Gunde' has been widely criticized in Bangladesh due to its controversial depiction of the liberation war.
