Notification of definition of freedom fighter issued: Minimum age of freedom fighter fixed at 13 years

The Dhaka Times Desk There was a lot of criticism about the actual definition of freedom fighters. So this time the notification of the definition of freedom fighter has been issued. Also, the minimum age of a freedom fighter has been fixed at 13 years.

It has been said that those who were at least 13 years of age on March 26, 1971, will be considered for inclusion in the official list as freedom fighters.

In the light of the recommendations of the National Freedom Fighters Council, the Ministry of Liberation War has issued a notification today (Tuesday) defining the definition and age of 'freedom fighters' in order to prepare a reliable and acceptable list of real freedom fighters.

In the definition of the issued notification, it is said, 'In response to the declaration of independence by the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the period from March 26 to December 16, 1971, all those who participated in the liberation war with the aim of achieving the great independence of Bangladesh, will be considered as freedom fighters.'
