The Dhaka Times Desk After the death of the late Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro, the whole world mourned. Almost all world heads of state have expressed condolences. But a 'brutal dictator' has been called the newly elected president of the United States, Donald Trump!
Trump made such comments in a statement just a few hours after the death of this great revolutionary leader. "Today the world lost a brutal dictator who oppressed the people of his country for nearly six decades," Trump's statement read. Fidel Castro's legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and denial of basic human rights.'
Trump also said in that statement, 'Cuba is still a dictatorial country. My hope is that the horrors that have been going on there for so long will end today and that the wonderful people of Cuba will be able to live in the free society that they so richly deserve.'
Trump also said, "After Castro's death, our administration will do everything possible to ensure that the Cuban people can begin their journey to prosperity and freedom."
Before the vote, Trump criticized efforts to normalize US relations with Cuba, saying he would not accept President Barack Obama's initiative unless freedom of expression was allowed there.
It should be noted that Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro died at the age of 90 on Friday in Havana, the capital of Cuba. Fidel's brother and current president Raul Castro confirmed the news of his death.
