Donald Trump listened to the Koran carefully! [video]

The Dhaka Times Desk After taking office as the new president of the United States, the newly elected US president Donald Trump listened carefully to the Holy Quran at the national prayer meeting!

Two verses from Surah Huzrat and Surah Ar-Rum were recited at this time. Through these two verses the creation of man, the diversity of their languages and nationalities and piety (of Allah) are reminded.

These two verses were recited by Sudanese-born imam Mohammad Magid at the national prayer meeting organized to mark Trump's inauguration in Washington.

Imam Magid, executive director of the All Dallas Area Muslim Society of Washington, was one of the 26 leaders of all religions at the prayer meeting at the National Cathedral.

Imam Magid first recited the Arabic Qur'at of Surah Hujrat verse 13. Later he also read the English translation of this verse.

This verse says, 'O mankind, I have created you from one male and one female, divided you into different nations and tribes, so that you may know each other. Verily, the most respected person in the sight of Allah is the most Muttaki (Allah-fearing). Surely Allah knows everything and is aware of everything.'

Then Imam Magid recited the Quran and translation of verse 22 of Surah Ar-Rum. It is said in this verse that, 'One of the signs of Allah is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and colors. Surely in it are signs for those who know.'
