To increase the taste of water mixed with tamarind, it is being mixed with toilet cleaner! But it's not a lie, it's true. A toilet cleaner named Chetan Nanji Marwali was mixing tamarind water day after day to increase the taste!
The incident happened in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The incident happened in 2009. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) filed a complaint in the special court in Chetan's name. A court of the country has ordered Chetan to be sentenced to 6 months imprisonment as he was proved guilty in the court last Saturday.
It is known that several complaints have been submitted to the AMC from the residents of Lal-Darja area of Ahmedabad against the accused Chetan. Several people reported that Chetan was mixing something in the tamarind water.
Locals also said that Chetan used to throw the overflowing tamarind water on the road. However, it was observed that the area of the road where tamarind was dumped was getting damaged. After that, the locals suspected him. The matter was then reported to AMC.
On receiving the complaint, an AMC team collected the tamarind water and sent it for testing. Tests revealed that oxalic acid was mixed into the tamarind water, which is used as a toilet cleaner!
