Now Uber is thinking of bringing flying cars

The Dhaka Times Desk US app-based taxi service Uber has hired a former NASA engineer to help with flying car research.

Mark Murray, an engineer, has already joined the post of aviation engineering director of the 'Uber Elevate' division.

Uber published a white paper in October last year expressing its interest in flying cars. At that time, it was reported by the company that the vehicle they created will take off vertically.

The white paper says that due to massive improvements in the city's communication system, it is possible to reduce the time spent on daily commutes to a great extent. Just as tall buildings ensure efficient use of the same land, the use of three-dimensional airspace can also reduce the travel time of city-dwelling aircraft.

While working at NASA, Mark Murray published a white paper on a similar type of flying vehicle. Perhaps that is why the Uber authorities entrusted him with this project. The company has already welcomed the addition of Mark Moore to Uber.

Meanwhile, Mark Murray says a potential game-changing technology for aircraft is electric propulsion. Its only challenge is the current battery storage.

However, Uber is already investing in self-driving cars with Volvo and Daimler. This company is also focusing on making flying vehicles.
