Facebook launched a new service in Safety Check

The Dhaka Times Desk Facebook has added a new tool to the Safety Check feature to give updates on whether a person is safe in the event of a natural disaster.

According to CNN, through this new service of Facebook, help can also be sought for urgent needs through this tool. If any person or organization wants to cooperate, he can also inform through this new tool.

Facebook authorities said, this new tool of Safety Check will serve as a suitable means of providing immediate assistance to any person who is in danger of natural disaster. The world's largest social media platform hopes to be a one-stop-shop. That is, this new tool will provide direct communication between those who need help in an emergency or those who are interested in helping.

The tool will feature 10 categories – including food, supplies, accommodation and transportation. The authorities also said that the posts in each category will have a map on top, through which it will be possible to know the location of the nearest helper.

In this case, Facebook will first collect disaster information through a third party. Then you will see the status posted by the people there. If it is found that many people have posted about it then this safety check option will be activated for that region immediately.

The new tool will also have a way to know if a person has received ad aid. Once someone gets help, they no longer have the option.

This new addition to Community Help has been launched in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India before this news was released. Facebook authorities said that it will be launched in other countries soon.
