Chabahar port of Iran is opening to India!

The Dhaka Times Desk Iran's Chabahar port near India is coming up soon. It will become very important for India for strategic reasons.

Consul General of Afghanistan in India Mohammad Aman Amin said that the port will be opened soon. Once the port is operational, India will be able to reach the markets of Europe and Central Asia by avoiding the roads inside Pakistan. This will save both business, transaction time and money. Keeping that purpose in mind, the port is being built to create a transport and trade corridor through Afghanistan.

Last year in 2016, India signed a historic agreement with Iran, Afghanistan for the construction of this port. Amin said that if the port is opened within a month, the trade between India and Afghanistan will also be strengthened.

However, Pakistan is worried about the opening of Chapahar port. Although this step of New Delhi could have been detected earlier, Beijing and Islamabad did not act at first. But India's move has now become a source of tension and headache for Pakistan.
