The image you are viewing is the heritage 'Gunaighar Baitul Azgar Seven Dome Jame Masjid' of Devidwar. It is one of the famous mosques of the country in terms of construction style.
This mosque is known as 'Gunaighar Baitul Azgar Seven Domed Jame Masjid. It is located in Devidwar town area on the northwest corner of Comilla district headquarters via Comilla-Sylhet highway and Gunaighar village two kilometers south west of Devidwar headquarters.
It is an exceptional architectural style mosque painted in numerous calligraphy with a combination of new and old construction methods. The seven domes of this mosque have managed to attract nationwide attention.
The special feature of this air-conditioned mosque is the calligraphy and construction style. There are four minarets at the four corners of the mosque. It is believed to be the first four-minar mosque in Bangladesh. The height of the minarets is 80 feet. This mosque has 7 domes. The mosque is 48 feet long and 36 feet wide. About a hundred Muslims can pray in the main part of this mosque. Apart from this, Muslims can pray in the mosque's balcony, i.e. in the tiled space in front, twice as much as in the main part. There is also a lighting system on top of this mosque. Electric lamps of different colors have been used in it. The word 'Allahu' is written on the mosque. Which shines like a star in the darkness of the night. This light can be seen from far away. There is also a fruit and flower garden overlooking the west side of the mosque. There is also a huge reservoir. All four sides including the banks of this reservoir are covered with white rocks.
A look at the calligraphy of this mosque is surprising. Here calligraphy is done in Bengali and Arabic. Artist Arifur Rahman worked as a craftsman and designer. Shaheen Malik was the architect of this mosque. Here 'Sura Ar Rahman', 'Ayatal Qurchi' and 'Char Kool' are beautifully written in Arabic letters. The inner core of the mosque has 5 domes. One has Ayatal Kursi written on it. 4 keys inscribed inside 4 other domes. Many moon and star symbols are painted on the outer covering of the mosque. Brick, cement, sand as well as porcelain and advanced tiles are used in the mosque. The craftsmanship is a combination of Mughal Turkish and Persian. 350 pieces of porcelain and 200 pieces of glass were used here. The mosque has 6 ACs and a chandelier. This mosque has everything that a modern mosque should have.
