It was announced before the visit that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India will not take place on the Teesta Agreement. The main reason for this not happening is the disapproval of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He directly informed that there is no water in Teesta. What will I give to Bangladesh?

A bilateral meeting between the Prime Ministers of the two countries was held yesterday (Saturday) at the Deccan Suite of Hyderabad House. After the meeting, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the bus and train services on two new routes through video conference in the ball room. This time Modi called Mamata Banerjee on stage. These three leaders took a photo shoot together.

Incidentally, the two leaders also unveiled the nameplate of a road named 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Road' in the heart of Delhi through video conference. Besides, these two leaders inaugurated bus service to Dhaka via Jessore and Khulna and experimental train service on Khulna-Kolkata route. This is when Modi called Mamata Banerjee on stage.

On Saturday morning Maitri Express-2 left Khulna railway station for Kolkata dressed as a bride. This train service was a long time dream of the people of Khulna. Yesterday (Saturday) at 8:30 am, this train left experimentally on Khulna-Kolkata route.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi later said in a press conference, "We believe that it will be possible to reach a solution on the Teesta during the tenure of the current BJP government led by India and the ruling Awami League government of Bangladesh."

Narendra Modi said, 'The long friendly relationship between the two countries has now become stronger. There is the issue of Teesta agreement from the side of Bangladesh. The Chief Minister of West Bengal (Mamata Banerjee) has come here on my request. So I am very happy. I hope, even if the Teesta agreement is not concluded during this visit, this agreement will be completed very soon.'

Then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in a written statement, 'We have full confidence in India to solve the water distribution problem of the rivers of the two countries.'
