Arjen Robben's title gift to Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben scored Bayern's second goal of the match in the 89th minute and Saturday night brought Bayern Munich the joy of European supremacy after an era. Bayern Munich won the Champions League title for the fifth time with this.

Last year in the Champions League final, Bayern could not touch the title due to Aryan Robben's penalty miss, this time it was Robben who broke the title drought.

The first half was a tense, back-and-forth affair. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Borussia goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller's excellent work forced both teams to come back from the goal in the first half. However, Borussia made the first attack in the 14th minute. Lewandowski's powerful shot across the face of the goal was deflected over the crossbar by Bayern goalkeeper Neuer.

Bayern tested Borussia goalkeeper Weidenfeller for the first time in the 27th minute of the first half. He headed Mario Mandzukic over the crossbar from a perfect cross. Earlier, Borussia attacked Bayern's goal twice but Bayern was saved by the skill of goalkeeper Neuer.

Meanwhile, after 30 minutes, Robben failed to score after getting Wiedenfeller alone. Robben's shot bounced off Weidenfeller. Same situation in the 43rd minute, Arjen Robben didn't see the face of the goal despite finding the goalkeeper alone.

In the second half, after the start of the game, Robben contributed to open the goal after 60 minutes. Mandzukic, standing almost empty, received the ball from Robben's cross, he made no mistake sending the ball into the net. However, after 8 minutes, Bayern's Dante fouled in the box and Borussia got a penalty. Ilkay Gendogan made a fool of Neuer and scored for Borussia.

However, the football goddess was probably pleased with Robben, who wasted a lot of opportunities in the match. In the 89th minute, Robben got the ball from Ribery's back heel in the Dbox, this time Robben's shot found the goal net, Bayern forgot the trouble of being the runner-up last time. Note that in 2010 and 2012, Bayern Munich failed to become champions despite reaching the finals.
