Who has passed the day by eating a bread today BCS cadre!

The Dhaka Times Desk People can do anything if they have the will power, that is, if they have the morale. For example, Saim, who has an indomitable will, is now a BCS cadre even if he does not eat at lunch!

Sayem was not well dressed for the BCS oral exam. A friend then came to his side. He never had breakfast until he got the job. This young Sayem used to spend the day eating a bread worth five rupees only at noon. That boy is the BCS cadre today. Today we have the story of that Saim for you.

Abu Sayem's house in Kurigram. His father worked on other people's land. Father's income did not buy rice in Petpur for three hours. Mother used to sew kantha at home for extra income. Then he used to sell that kantha from house to house. He does not know how many days and nights Sayem spent without food.

Now the day of Sayam's trouble has come. In the 35th BCS education cadre, Abu Sayem was second in the social welfare merit list. Talking to the reporter, Sayem went back to his childhood days, 'My mother used to get up early in the morning to collect guavas eaten by bats from under other people's guava trees. That guava was our only breakfast in the morning.'

There was a papaya tree in front of his house. If there was no supply of rice, we had to eat raw and ripe papaya many times. As there was no rice, once his father brought kalai from the field. His heartburn started after eating that fried banana. Sayem fell ill. Fortunately, Sayem survived the journey.

Sayem's days were spent in starvation and sickness. Still he continued to study, Sayem never left his studies. He maintained his streak of good results in secondary school as well. After the HSC exam, Sayem took classes at a coaching center in the village for a few days.

Sayem told the media, 'Mother used to sew other people's necks. He used to get wages from 70 to 100 per kantha. The 10 fingers of the mother's hand have got many holes like nets. Today my mother's life has been worthwhile.'

Abu Sayyem is truly an invincible soldier in the battle of life. Sayem is a shining example of what people can do if they want!
