The Dhaka Times Desk Preet Bharara, a former New York state attorney, says he was fired after receiving a series of unusual phone calls from President Donald Trump and 'rejecting' them.
In an interview given to the ABC television channel, Preet Bharara said that the phone calls violated the limits of the independence of the Criminal Investigation Department from the executive department in the country.
Bharara also said that he was fired after he refused the third 'phone call'. However, no response from the White House has been received so far after his comments.
It is known that Barack Obama's appointed lawyer was Preet Bharara, who served as the top state attorney in Manhattan. He says that's why Trump has been trying to establish a separate relationship' since the two met in late 2016.
But Bharara felt it was 'inconsistent' or 'inappropriate' for Donald Trump to have any kind of separate relationship with a lawyer after assuming office as president.
Lawyer Preet Bharara said, "President Barack Obama has not even called me in the last 7 and a half years."
The former lawyer also said, 'No phone call can be expected from the president, because the judiciary has to avoid any close contact or relationship. Such a limit has been fixed.'
It should be noted that just a few days before this interview with Preet Bharara, former FBI chief James Comey said in a hearing of the US Congress that President Donald Trump wanted his "loyalty". However, President Trump has denied this completely and said that Comey acted "recklessly" by releasing the secret conversations.
