Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is going to be screened there again after a long ten years to break that drought.
The last Indian movie released in Israel was ten years ago, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Devdas' (2002). When asked why Bollywood movies were not released in Israel in the past decades, Kumar, president of Eros International Business Owners' Association, said that there were no good distributors until now and the printing of movies was too expensive. Due to this limitation, the movie could not be released for so many years. Earlier only some Indian channels and DVDs were the only way to watch Bollywood movies in Israel.
Kumar said the movie 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is going to release in India and Israel on the same day. He has taken this decision keeping in mind the Indian citizens living in Israel, because there is a great demand for Indian movies in that country as well. Hopefully the film will be a commercial success there. Film director Ayan Mukerji dubbed the movie in Hebrew for the audience in that country. A significant part of the movie has been arranged as an advertisement on the television channels there.
Israeli distributor Psy Motion Picture has taken the help of portable projectors to promote the movie to facilitate showing the movie in different theaters. In this regard, distributor Sai Solomon said: I believe other distributors will be equally curious about this movie. Since this movie is going to release here after 10 long years of Devdas release, we hope to bring other Indian movies here for our audience and also build a good market for Indian movies here.
