The country is located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. Spain is bordered by Portugal to the west and France and Andorra to the northeast. The country is bordered by the Bay of Biscay to the north, and the Strait of Gibraltar to the south. Morocco to the south of the strait, the Atlantic Ocean to the west and southwest.
