Shakib scored 5000 runs in ODIs

The Dhaka Times Desk Shakib Al Hasan, the world's best all-rounder of Bangladesh, was named in the world's famous players' team, i.e. 5 thousand club. This time he registered 5000 in ODIs.

Shakib Al Hasan made this new milestone by playing the first match of the ODI series against South Africa in Kimberley.

Shakib had 4983 runs in ODI cricket before coming to the field for today's match. He needed just 17 runs to reach this new milestone.

After coming down to play in such an equation, he reached 5000 runs by playing the ball of Protea bowler Pretorius. Also, Shakib Al Hasan has set a new record.

Before Shakib, Tamim Iqbal was the only member of Bangladesh in the five thousand club for Bangladesh. Tamim scored 5743 runs in 173 matches.

He made another record by scoring 5000 runs in ODIs. With more than 200 wickets and 5000 runs, Shakib is named next to the four greatest cricketers in the world. Shakib's 224 wickets in ODIs.

Among the four great cricketers who have simultaneously scored 5000 runs and 200 wickets in ODIs are:

Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka (13430 runs and 323 wickets in 445 matches)
Jacques Kallis of South Africa (11579 runs and 273 wickets in 328 matches)
Shahid Afridi of Pakistan (8064 runs and 395 wickets in 398 matches)
Another is Pakistani Abdur Razzak (5080 runs and 269 wickets in 265 matches).

However, compared to these four great cricketers, he has taken more than 5,000 and 200 wickets in the fastest time. Shakib played 178 matches to make this record. Earlier, Jacques Kallis had played 221 matches and set the record for the fastest time.
