The mosque that you are seeing is the historic Khan Bari Mosque, the oldest historical monument of Muslim architecture in Jhenaigati Upazila of Sherpur District.
The last Nawab of Bengal, Sirajuddaula, was defeated in the battle of Palashi and his warriors hid themselves in different places. A warrior named Azimullah Khan came here and settled permanently. He established this mosque. Another name for him was Palayan Khan because he escaped and lived there.
This mosque was established in 1228 Hijri. Later, during the renovation of the mosque, the names of Azmullah Khan's 2nd son Afzal Khan and Golap Khan were written on the nameplate. The architectural style of this mosque is very beautiful. This historic mosque is located in Ghagra Laskarpara village under Hatibanda Union of Jhenaigati Upazila, 12 km north of Sherpur district headquarters.
