The situation gradually got out of control when radical Islamists protested on the streets of Pakistan's Islamabad demanding the resignation of the law minister since last Saturday. The military-civilian authorities favored a political compromise to bring the situation under control. To control the situation, the government of Pakistan has issued a media blackout (radio-TV shutdown) across the country including the capital.
Since the day before yesterday (Saturday), the capital has been completely paralyzed due to repeated clashes between the law enforcement forces and the radical protesters. The army was called in yesterday (Sunday) to control the extremists when the situation went out of police control. It was informed from the side of the army that they are fully ready to enter the field. But now they will not enter the field.
Pakistani news agency Dawn News said that instead of deploying troops to bring the situation under control, both the military and civilian sides are trying to find a political solution to the issue.
The government of Pakistan has banned all forms of electronic media from spreading news about the operation against the extremists.
It should be noted that the leaders and workers of Tehreek-e-Labaik have been protesting in the capital for the past 3 weeks demanding the resignation of the country's law minister. This movement gradually turned into a clash from last Saturday. Many cars were set on fire yesterday. The capital city has been completely taxed.
