Breaking news: Mayor Anisul Haque passed away

The Dhaka Times Desk Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Anisul Haque passed away. He was undergoing treatment in London. He was 65 years old at the time of his death.

His family sources told the media that doctors have confirmed his death. He is survived by his wife Rubana Haque and three children.

On July 29, Mayor Anisul Haque went to the UK with his family on a personal visit. He fell ill there and went to the hospital for a checkup on August 13. He passed out after returning home after the checkup. In medical terms this is called 'mild brain stroke'. The next day on August 14, he was admitted to the hospital and was kept in the intensive care unit (ICU). Later, due to some improvement in physical condition, he was transferred from ICU to rehabilitation.

But last Tuesday, he suddenly felt ill and was again shifted to the ICU. He was then diagnosed with an infection in his blood and lungs.

As he was popular as a mayor in the Dhaka City Corporation area, he also had a reputation as a successful presenter throughout the country.

It is known that his body will be brought to Dhaka on Saturday.
