The Dhaka Times Desk Rangpur Riders won the cup after defeating Dhaka Dynamites. This is the first time Rangpur Riders have won the title of Bangladesh Premier League.
Mashrafe Bahini defeated the three-time champions Dhaka Dynamites by 57 runs and left the field with victory.
Rangpur collected a huge 206 runs in the 20 overs decided by batting earlier. Dhaka scored 149 runs in reply.
Today at the Home of Cricket in Mirpur, Caribbean marquee batsman Gayle danced to the delight of the gallery-filled fans. He played a devastating innings of 146 runs off 69 balls. Gayle's strike rate is 211.59 with 5 fours and 18 sixes.
Gayle was accompanied by Kiwi star McCullum. He scored 51 runs off 43 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Both men left the field after winning their wickets. In all Rangpur's collection is 206. Dhaka had to score 207 runs to win. But in the end it didn't happen. Dhaka had to accept defeat.
