The most dangerous bridge in India is built over the sea. This is the Pamban Bridge in Ramswaram. The Chennai-Egmore Rameswaram Express flies over the head of all the hot mail bridges, the Pamban Bridge that connects the mainland to the Indian island of Rameswaram.
2.3 km built on the sea. The long bridge was opened in 1914. Initially meter gauge trains were run through this bridge. Later in 2007 meter gauge line was converted from broad gauge to mixed gauge.
High speed is not possible while running over this bridge due to high wind speed. The train is limited to 15 kph just when crossing the cantilever bridge.
