The world record of the French sailor to circumnavigate the world in less days!

The Dhaka Times Desk A French sailor created a world record by sailing around the world in the shortest time! France's Funko Gabart set the record early Sunday morning by reaching between Ushant Island in the northwest of France and Lizard Point in the southwest of England.

An imaginary line is drawn between the Isle of Wight in the northwest of France and Lizard Point in the southwest of England. France's Funko Gabart arrived there early Sunday morning with his modern maxi trimaran boat. Then his world tour ended. He also set a world record.

Famous French writer Jules Verne wrote his adventure classic 'Around the World in Eighty Days' in 1873. It was a day to celebrate machine civilization. The book also talks about the use of various vehicles. Then the world has come a long way. 80 days in the world of airplanes or bullet trains is no longer even possible to discuss. But what if the entire journey is by water? Then of course there is the reckoning.

That process started in 2004. French sailor Francis Joyn sailed around the world in 72 days and 22 hours. Then 2 more people broke his record. In 2016, French sailor Kohli took the world record in 49 days and 3 hours. Garba, a 34-year-old father of two children, broke his record on this day. He completed circumnavigating the globe by water in just 42 days 16 hours 40 minutes 35 seconds. He covered 1576 km of waterways. A truly wonderful record.
