Furniture with concrete: really a surprise!

Nowadays many are turning to concrete for houses, bridges or any major construction project. Currently, many roads in the capital Dhaka are being made with concrete. But this time more new news is that now furniture will be made with concrete. Germany's University of Dresden is trying to make furniture and other things with lightweight yet strong textile concrete made from advanced carbon.

Scientists have already succeeded in experimenting with making everyday furniture with this textile concrete. It is embedded in another layer of concrete with the addition of carbon mesh. Finally the final textile concrete is cured for 24 hours.

Researchers have found that textile concrete is 6 times stronger than conventional reinforced concrete. But even though this new material has so many qualities, it is possible to destroy it. Based on the knowledge gained from various experiments in the lab and by hand, the scientists plan to build more.

In this regard, Professor Kuerbach said, 'Actually, the use of concrete indoors is not very easy to expect. This is because concrete is thick, bulky and heavy, and no one wants such a material in the living room. But if carbon is used it can be made very thin. By making small thin parts, chairs, tables or sofas can be made with it.

This textile concrete opens up new possibilities for the current generation of engineers and designers. In the future, it may be possible to build many more things with such thin and strong textile concrete - that's what those involved hope.
