This mysterious village in China has been captured on drone footage, where all the houses are underground. For about 200 years, those residents have been living in underground houses. There are at least ten thousand such houses in a row! About 3 thousand people still live there.
These houses are very close to China's Henan province. Except for 3 thousand people, the rest left that house and moved to other places. Such houses are called 'yaodong'. According to media reports, at least 6 generations are living in such houses.
The square houses are on the ground floor. The temperature of the underground area is 10 degrees in winter and 20 degrees in summer. It is known that such houses were built in the mountainous areas of China 4 thousand years ago. The underground cave-houses are said to be located in Sanmexia city of Henan province. Nowadays these houses have all modern facilities including electricity connection.
These houses are not damaged by earthquakes. Also the houses are sound-proof. The surrounding areas are used for farming. These houses are available for a monthly rent of 21 euros. These houses are sold for 32 thousand euros. These cave-houses are 20 to 23 feet deep, and 33-39 feet long. Tourists also flock there to see these underground houses. That is why they are being preserved by the local administration.
