The popular social media Facebook has announced scholarships to improve journalism skills. Each student nominated for the scholarship will receive USD 10,000. Recently, Facebook has given this information in a notification.

According to the notification, Facebook will spend 1 million US dollars of its own share for students for higher education on digital media and journalism for the next 5 years.

The United States-based media senate said that the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Asian American Journalists Association, Native American Journalists Association and National Lesbian and Gay Journalists will give 250,000 US dollars for this. These institutions will distribute this money as scholarships to students studying journalism for the next 5 years. Each person selected for the scholarship will receive USD 10,000.

According to Facebook, The Facebook Journalism Project is committed to supporting the next generation of journalists.

It should be noted that last year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced spending most of his job or income on the welfare of society, especially on improving the skills of students. Facebook authorities are going to take such an initiative in continuation of that.
