The Dhaka Times Desk Air fares are cheaper than auto rickshaws in India! Such information was given by the country's Civil Aviation Minister Jayantra Singh.
Jayantra Singh, Minister of Civil Aviation of the country commented that the fares of airplanes are lower than auto rickshaws in India at present. He said that air fare was the most expensive for the people for so long. But nowadays air fares per kilometer in India are much less than auto rickshaw fares.
According to a published news, air fare per kilometer on domestic routes in India is currently Rs.5. But traveling by auto rickshaw costs more than 8 rupees per kilometer.
On the other hand, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the number of air passengers has increased from 11 crore to 20 crore in four years. However, it is very difficult to say how reasonable it is to calculate the air fare of the whole country based on the financial calculation of the air fare of one city.
