A student of Kuwait was killed in a gas explosion: the dream of becoming an engineer was extinguished

A Kuwaiti student was killed in a gas explosion in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. 3 more students were injured in this incident. The injured are being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. All the dead students and injured students are students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). All of them were studying textile engineering.

It is reported that the explosion occurred on Saturday night due to a faulty gas connection. Initially, this is what the police think.

This incident of strong explosion occurred in the middle of the night on the third floor of a 6-storey building. One student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology was killed and 3 other students were seriously burnt.

Although it is assumed that the explosion happened due to gas connection, the police is investigating the involvement of something else or sabotage.

Tawhidul Islam (23) was killed in the explosion. His house is in Shajahanpur village of Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra district. The burnt people are Deepta Sarkar (23) of Shalikha upazila of Magura district, Shaheen Mia of Khas Satbari village of Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district, Fitgram of Manda upazila of Naogaon district. Hafizur Rahman (23). All the victims are students of textile engineering department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). These students were doing internship course in a garment factory called Square Fashion Limited located in Masterbari area of Bhaluka Upazila.

Mymensingh Police Superintendent Syed Nurul Islam said that the house had illegal gas connection. This terrible explosion happened when gas leaked out and created a chamber due to a fault in that connection. Titas gas authority confirmed to the police that there was an illegal gas connection in that house.

Meanwhile, different circles have spread various propaganda about this gas explosion. Many give it the appearance of militant involvement, but in fact these students are innocent students of Kuwait. Talking to other students of textile department of Kuwait on this matter, it is known that if anyone complains against them, it will be a matter of pity. They study to brighten the face of their parents and pass out after only a few days. Students say, not only are the parents' dreams shattered, but the nation has lost a deserving student. The students have called for strict punishment against the owner of the house who is involved in the incident especially for the illegal gas connection.

Meanwhile, after this incident, a delegation of teachers including the VC and Pro-VC of Kuwait has left for Dhaka Medical College, according to the latest news.
