Darren Bravo (35), Dwayne Bravo (25) and Kieron Pollard (22) tried to keep the Windies running. But almost at the last moment, Darren Sammy, who has just become former captain, combined with Kemar Roach for the ninth wicket to form a partnership of 51 runs from 27 balls in the last wicket. Sammy remains unbeaten with a storming innings of 56 runs off 35 balls. Sammy's storm added 51 runs to the Windies scoreboard in the last 4 overs! Ishant Sharma gave 22 runs in the first 9 overs and gave 21 runs in the last over. Windies scored 233 runs after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. Apart from Jadeja, Kumar, Ashwin, Yadav and Ishant Sharma took one wicket each.

রান তাড়া করতে নেমে উইন্ডিজের বোলিং আক্রমণ ভোঁতা হয়ে যায় ধাওয়ান এবং রোহিত শর্মার আগ্রাসী ব্যাটিং এর সামনে। দুই ওপেনার মিলে প্রথম উইকেট জুটিতে স্কোরবোর্ডে ১০১ রান যোগ করেন। রোহিত শর্মা অর্ধশতক হাঁকিয়ে নারাইনের বলে ব্যক্তিগত ৫২ রানে স্টাম্পড আউট হয়ে যান। এরপর ভিরাট কোহলি ১৮ রান করে আউট হয়ে গেলেও তৃতীয় উইকেট জুটিতে এবার ধাওয়ান – দীনেশ কার্তিক মারমুখী হয়ে ওঠেন। ধাওয়ান টূর্ণামেন্টে টানা দ্বিতীয় বারের মতো সেঞ্চুরি ছুঁয়েছেন। কার্তিকও তুলে নিয়েছেন ৫৪ বলে ৫১ রানের অর্ধশতক। এদুজনের করা ১০৯ রানের ওপর ভর করে ৩৯.১ ওভারেই উইন্ডিজের ২৩৩ রান ছাড়িয়ে ভারত করে ২৩৬ রান।

India advanced to the semi-finals with a huge eight-wicket win. On the other hand, the India-Pakistan match on June 15 is now nothing but an additional official match in a sense. The match between South Africa and West Indies will decide the second semi-finalist of Group B. Jadeja was awarded the Man of the Match award for his historic contribution to India.
