Israel has now banned the call to prayer in a mosque in the West Bank of Palestine. Palestinian Minister of Religion Youssef Adais announced Israel's ban on the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron on Friday.
In a statement, Palestinian Minister of Religion Youssef Adais called Israel's ban "a dangerous example" and a "clear violation of freedom of worship."
The minister added, "Such a ban on worship means that the Jewish occupiers are trying to control even the holy places of Muslims in the area."
Notably, earlier in 1994, Israeli-American Jew Baruch Goldstein shot and killed 29 Palestinians for praying in a mosque. Later he committed suicide. It was then that the mosque was divided into two parts, believing that it was built on the grave of Prophet Ibrahim (A). 45 percent of this was designated for Muslim and 55 percent for Jewish worship.
This Ibrahimi Mosque is located in the Old City district of Hebron. Where about 400 Jews live. They are protected by 1500 Israeli soldiers. On the other hand, more than a thousand Palestinians pray regularly in the mosque.
Israel has issued a temporary ban on the entry of Muslims and tourists to the Ibrahimi Mosque several times before. But the synagogue was never closed.
In addition to banning the call to prayer in mosques in the West Bank, Israeli forces have been killing ordinary Palestinians with direct fire at peaceful protests along the Gaza border. Despite the condemnation of various organizations and countries of the world, the Jewish state of Israel does not stop killing Palestinians. At least 28 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the past two Fridays.
