After being closed for 5 years, the largest glass house in the world called Kew Gardens House in London is being opened today on May 5. It is considered to be the largest glass house of Victorian glass in the world.

Kew Gardens House in London is basically a giant greenhouse. This room currently houses about 10,000 tropical tree seedlings. Among these trees there are several species of trees that are very rare and almost on the verge of extinction.

It was closed by the authorities for renovation in 2013, 5 years ago today. Over a period of 5 years, 5,270 liters of paint were used in this house. 15,000 spans of glass have also been replaced.

Kew Gardens is very popular among nature lovers. A piece of greenery in the city was very encouraging to Londoners. Naturalist and BBC newsreader Sir David Attenborough told the BBC about his experience of visiting the house.

Regarding this he said, “When I first came to the house it cost only a few paise to enter. I used to come here on weekends when I had to rush to work. I used to come here and take a deep breath. The reason is that the scent of nature can be found here”.

David Attenborough said, “Just as many animals are going extinct, so are many species of plants. So one can definitely say that such a place is very important”.
