SAARC Film Festival 2018: Halda and Khachcha are participating in the festival

The Dhaka Times Desk SAARC Film Festival 2018 is going to be held from 22 to 27 May in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Halda and Khachcha films of Bangladesh are participating in this year's festival.

3 films from Bangladesh will be screened at this year's 8th SAARC Film Festival. This film festival is going to be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, from May 22 to 27.

Films from SAARC countries will be screened in 3 sections of this 6-day film festival. The festival will screen 3 full-length and 2 short films from Bangladesh.

Manjurul Islam Megh, Bangladesh Films Distribution Coordinator, said that Taukir Ahmed's 'Halda' and Akram Khan's 'Khacha' will compete in the main competition of this year's SAARC Film Festival. 'Akhi and his friends' directed by renowned filmmaker Morshedul Islam has been nominated from Bangladesh in the master film category of this festival. Two short films named 'Kaalo Megher Velay' and 'Daag' will be screened in the short film category.

It may be noted that the film 'Unknown' directed by Taukir Ahmed won the best screenplay award at the 7th SAARC Film Festival held in 2017.
