Never before in the history of the world has such a huge pot of cooking been seen. 600 kg of lamb's liver is cooked in that huge pot in Turkey. The vessel in which the livers were cooked is set to be named the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest vessel. It is for that purpose that the people concerned have committed this crime recently. The cooking was organized for the purpose of the International Liver Foods and Bands Festival.
Mayor Risen Gurkan attended the event in Edirne, Turkey on May 12. Guinness authorities also witnessed the cooking arrangement and the pot. The 2 ton vessel is 275 inches in length and 31 inches in depth.
Mayor Risen Gurkan said that the world record has been achieved - after the fact is confirmed, the pot will be left for tourists to see.
According to a report in Daily Sabah, this cooking of sheep's liver is considered as a special traditional cooking in Edirne of the country. Local authorities applied last year to add this cuisine to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
