According to a news published by the media, in that open letter Dihan's mother Sanjida Sarkar said that I was shocked by the incident of my son Dihan and his girlfriend Orna Amin at my house on January 7. As a mother and woman it is very difficult to accept such incidents. I have not spoken to any media for the past two days. The reason is that I tried to understand the whole incident. As a mother, I tried to know whether my son's rape and murder was the intention or not by collecting information from Dihan's friends. As a woman, I never want any girl to be disrespected or raped.
Dihan's mother said, I left Dihan alone at home at 10:45 am on January 7 to visit my sick father and left for Bogra. My other son was at his workplace. After crossing the Yamuna Bridge, at 2:45 PM, I initially got to know that Dihan's girlfriend had died at the Modern Hospital. Dihan was also arrested by the police. I came to Dhaka quickly and saw the police at my house. I came to know that the girl was raped and died when she came to meet Dihan at my house. As a mother, I could predict a little earlier, my son was involved in some kind of relationship. But with any girl, I didn't know that. However, from various media, seeing close pictures with Dihan on the Facebook ID of the girl (Aurna Amin), writing poems about Dihan, etc., it seems that Dihan may be in a relationship with this girl. I think, after I left the house, when Dihan contacted the girl, that girl came to my house. The girl came to my house because she had a relationship of trust with Dihan. I think, Dihan did not call the girl home with the intention of rape or murder. They love each other. As such, he may have called to spend time alone. Both are young. A minor girl and my son also aged 18 years 7 months i.e. a teenager. Both of them indulged in physical relations due to passion and showed immaturity. What happened next appears to be purely an accident. If my son was a rapist or a murderer he would have tried to save himself but he never did. He himself drove the girl to the hospital. Called the girl's mother and confessed the incident to the police. If my son does wrong with the girl then as a woman I also want my son to get justice.
But I want to have faith in the police administration and I want to have faith in the judicial department to investigate whether the sexual intercourse was done against the will of the girl and whether the bleeding and death were caused only because of the sexual intercourse. I request everyone in the society not to identify my son as rapist or murderer before the trial.

It is to be noted that the school girl named Anushka was brutally raped and killed in the dolphin lane of Lake Circus in Kalabagan. Protests and condemnations continue across the country in this incident. There were also protest rallies and human chains demanding strict punishment for the accused.
